A.G. Holley
A. G. Holley Hospital serves as Florida's only public health hospital. It is dedicated primarily to the cure of tuberculosis (TB) and is an integral part of the Department of Health and the TB Control Program. A. G. Holley State Hospital is the only free-standing tuberculosis hospital remaining in the United States.
Mission Statement
To cure the most difficult and complex cases of tuberculosis in Florida by:
- Providing high-quality medical care to affected individuals,
- Assuring the successful completion of therapy
- Sharing expertise with the medical and lay community.
Every year more than 3,000,000 persons in the world die from tuberculosis.
More people die from this communicable disease than any other, including AIDS. In the U.S., more than 24,000 persons were diagnosed with TB last year. Persons with HIV and other immune suppressing diseases are especially susceptible to TB infection.
